Front Desks & Housing Facilities
UC Berkeley Housing consists of university-managed buildings and affiliated properties maintained through public-private partnerships.
Each UC Berkeley Housing complex has a front desk that serves as a central hub for information and support, including mail and package distribution and lockout assistance. These front desks are managed by the Housing Facilities team, part of UC Berkeley’s Residential Student Service Programs. Housing Facilities oversees maintenance and improvements for UC Berkeley’s residence halls and apartments, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment for residents and the campus community. Our Public-Private Partnership (P3) partners oversee facilities and maintenance for affiliated properties.
Maintenance Requests
For non-urgent maintenance needs, submit a Maintenance Request through the Housing Maintenance portal (log in with your CalNet ID). Maintenance services are included in all campus housing contracts. If you would like to follow up on your housing facilities maintenance request, you can email RSSP_servrequest@berkeley.edu with your request or work order number. You can also reply directly from the automated message email you received after submitting a maintenance request.
Please note: Blackwell, Enclave, New Sequoia, and Panoramic Berkeley are affiliated properties. Residents should follow separate instructions for submitting maintenance requests:
- Blackwell: Submit via the Emaint portal
- Enclave: Submit via the SG Real Estate resident portal
- New Sequoia: Submit via the New Sequoia Maintenance Form

Emergency Repairs
In case of an emergency, contact the front desk staff. Emergencies include:
- Flooding or ceiling leaks
- No heat, hot water, or cold water
- Overflowing toilet
- Door or window locking issues
- Elevator entrapment or out-of-service elevators
- Power outages
