Front Desks & Housing Facilities
The front desk of each UC Berkeley Housing complex is a central hub for information and support, and handles the distribution of mail and packages. Front desks are managed by the Housing Facilities team, part of UC Berkeley’s Residential Student Service Programs. Housing Facilities provides maintenance and improvements to UC Berkeley’s residence halls and apartments, ensuring the safety and comfort of our residents and campus community.
Please note: When you need something repaired, first submit a Maintenance Request in the Housing Maintenance portal (log in with your CalNet ID). Visit the Cleaning & Maintenance page for more information. Maintenance is included in all campus housing contracts.
If you have an emergency request, you should generally contact either your RA on duty or, if they are not available, the front desk staff. Examples of emergencies are flooding, ceiling leak, lack of heat, lack of hot or cold water, overflowing toilet, a door or window locking issue, elevator entrapment/out of service, or a power outage.

Non-Emergency Housing Facilities Contact Information
Non-emergency requests should be reported through the Housing Maintenance portal so that the Housing Facilities team can assign and monitor all requests. If you have an emergency request, you should generally contact either your RA on duty or, if they are not available, the front desk staff.
If you would like to follow up on your housing facilities maintenance request, you can email RSSP_servrequest@berkeley.edu with your request or work order number. You can also reply directly from the automated message email you received after submitting a maintenance request.
Please do not use this email address for emergency maintenance issues or concerns as this is only monitored during regular work hours, Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
