Martinez Commons is situated just two blocks south of the main campus, providing students with the choice of traditional residence hall living or apartment-style accommodations.
The building’s lobby features soaring ceilings, natural wood, and plenty of gathering spots.
Martinez Commons has an academic center, gym and meetings rooms on the main level, and study rooms on every floor.
Students can study or hang out with friends in the outdoor common area of Martinez Commons.
The Martinez Commons Residence Hall offers double and triple rooms with all-gender community bathrooms.
Martinez Commons has a laundry center, mail services, and bike storage.

Martinez Commons is a premium, modern, eco-friendly residence hall located two blocks from campus. Amenities include an on-site fitness center, hotel-like lobby, interior courtyard, spacious study lounges, and a prime location close to cafés, shops, and campus life. Martinez Commons offers traditional corridor-style room layouts (mostly double rooms without bunk beds) and is the only residence hall open over winter break.

Premium traditional corridor-style residence hall: Rooms along a central hallway that share a communal bathroom and lounges.
All-gender and single-gender bathrooms.

Room occupancy

Double, triple, and a limited number of single-occupancy rooms.
Double bedrooms are the most commonly available option.
General note: There are very few single rooms at UC Berkeley, and they are typically reserved for students with a documented disability need.
